This painting started out as a collage. I painted various moody shades of green and blue onto paper and textured card and then cut out shapes. Moving them around I began to form the scene which may have happened very early on that first Easter Day, before anyone knew.

The light just emerging from the rising sun casts patterns over the trees. The three crosses, an abstract element but reflective of the events of a few days ago, just hang there in the mist. These were done with monoprinting. I highlighted the opening tomb and the incredible light coming from it – something momentous was happening.

Available in a high quality card mount with backboard and protected in a clear cellophane art bag. Overall size 300×300mm. Packaging is bubble wrap and strong white card envelope.
