This painting is my interpretation of the beginning of Psalm 42 ‘My Soul thirsts for you, the Living God.’ There are references to water in the Psalm. It includes the phrases ‘As the deer pants for streams of water’ and ‘deep cries to deep’. I wanted to express the refreshing nature of God’s Spirit. The bubbles rising up are an image of the Holy Spirit bringing life and energy back to us when we seek God.
