With You Wherever You Go is a greeting card featuring a digital image of an original textile embroidery piece.
The original piece was inspired by the verse Joshua 1v9 ‘...for the Lord your God will be with You wherever you go.’
I have a collection of vintage suitcases that belonged to my father. Although he is no longer with us, his memories are with us, wherever we have gone. His suitcases have been the inspiration to capture the promise of this verse.
Suitcases are a sign of an adventure, something is changing, and an event is about to happen. Suitcases require the maticulous process of packing and unpacking. In some ways there is a deep spirituality to this process, a moment when you decide what is really important, what is needed, what matters, and more importantly what doesn’t because you can never take it all with you.
The original piece that was crafted through a mixture of free hand machine embroidery and hand embroidery.
The image is printed on textured art card to bring the image to life. The card itself measures approximately 115x145 mm. The greeting card comes with a white envelope in a clear cellophane bag.
