‘Let it RAIN!' - A Fine Art Print of my original Mixed Media Painting

I created this painting after ‘seeing’ it in my minds eye as I was praying into a distressing situation while out walking one morning in May 2019. I found it a moving and beautiful picture and felt compelled to try and capture it in paint.

Like the Psalmist, we too can find ourselves crying out to God for mercy over the sudden, complex and painful circumstances life can throw at us and our loved ones.

What I ‘saw’ was a person heavy-hearted but with hands-raised & their face looking heavenward in surrender & worship. The sky was very dark & stormy above them, but then it was as if there came a breaking-through of light amidst the black cloud.

And then the rains came! Not a light shower but a heavy downpour!

This outpouring was like millions of colourful prisms! Rains of colour & refreshing & abundance, FULL of everything good! In the pouring I noticed that within each of the raindrops came Kingdom empowerment from the Father..

In one droplet: love. In another, peace. And another courage…strength, mercy, help, goodness, kindness, grace, light, inheritance, triumph, blessing, praise...and on and on and on the goodness fell!

It was as though the rain was Heavens healing waters washing over this person body, mind and spirit. And my declaration in prayer became, ‘Let it Rain God! Open the floodgates of Heaven! Let it Rain!’

The biblical texts of Psalm 130 and 131 were in my head as I began painting.
