Living in a world where there is so much pain and what seems a constant trickle of bad/hard news coming, I find it hard not to end up carrying a heaviness about it all and feeling a bit overwhelmed at times.
This Psalm has been a special one for me, and really helpful in lifting my eyes and pointing me back to The Onewho was there at the very beginning of it all - Elohim. The God name in the very first sentence in Genesis..the name that carries the idea of His awesome creative power as well as His authority and sovereignty! He is Creator of the heavens and the earth. He made everything out of nothing, bringing order and beauty and goodness out of chaos! And He's still doing it today! He has done it in my own life! He is God of gods, Highest of all. Master of the Universe! There is NO ONE like Him! The One who MADE the mountains is the same One who is with us THOUGH the mountains quake and crumble. In a world that's insecure and shaking, He is ALWAYS SECURE and NEVER SHAKEN! And my heart finds rest in this truth.
