Product description

See How The Wildflowers Grow is a mounted, signed giclee print from an original textile embroidery.

The original textile collage was inspired by the words from Matthew 6:28. Beautiful old linens, lace and doilies were used to build up a tactile layered surface before being freehand machine embroidered with the words from the bible verse. The piece was then overlayed with appliqued lace and embellished with hand stitched flowers and grasses based on my own wildflower drawings.

Many hours of work went into creating the original hand stitched piece and this professional archival print has picked out the textures of the lace and details of the hand embroidery beautifully.

It is printed on textured fine art paper using archival inks which will make your artwork last a lifetime. The paper measures10x10'' and the image measures approximately 7.5x7.5''. Frame not included.

Grace Gatley Textiles

Scripture inspired textile art featuring hand embroidered bible verses created by Grace Gatley in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

'Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.' Proverbs 16:24

Grace Gatley Textiles (the business) was born in 2013 when I’d just moved to Gloucestershire after graduating with a degree in Textile Design from Falmouth University. Since then, I have continued to grow and develop my work from my home studio in Cheltenham. My passion is to share the Word of God, and the infinite love of Jesus through the pieces that I create.

Beautiful words from scripture and lovely old hymns are my inspiration, and the vision behind my work comes from the Isaiah 43:19; 'See, I am doing a new thing!' Old linens and lace once fit for purpose and now discarded, are snipped, stitched and shaped into new things. They become the patchworked surfaces for textile collages, which I then embellish with print, applique and hand embroidered bible verses. These pieces are scanned and made into high quality scripture art prints and encouragement cards, all printed in the UK.

I'm currently in a period of slower living since the birth of my beautiful and crazy boy in 2016, but every Wednesday you'll find me at work in my studio, singing really loudly to whatever the latest Bethel album is and creating new pieces to glorify Him!

Come and find me on instagram (@gracegatleytextiles) for some behind the scenes snaps, and to find out where the next exhibition of my originals will be!
