The Happy Snail Company is part of Sarah Bennett Studio, a design studio run from a little, terraced house in North London.
My name’s Sarah and I’m a designer/illustrator, as well as a mum of 2 girls and wife to Steve, who (when not running his gardening business) helps me run my business- as my own personal admin ninja.
I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, back in 2006. I tried various career paths- mainly working in schools, as well doing bits of freelance design work. But I had a deep longing in my heart to create for something greater than me- a sense that I was ‘made for more’.
In 2016 I was made redundant from my job as a technician in a secondary school and it was as though God was saying ‘It’s your time’, so my business was born.
We produce fun, colourful and (very often) humorous designs on greetings cards, postcards, badges, journals and pens. Our products are designed to spread a bit of joy, to give a lift to both the sender and recipient. I love the idea of sending some happiness in the post (via snail mail), hence The Happy Snail Company.
There are so many people out there, who are struggling with various issues. People who need encouragement, people who need hope, those who need to be told that Jesus loves them. I pray that my designs will be part of spreading our message of hope and joy to these people. Just imagine if a simple card, with an encouraging word at the right time, stopped someone from giving up.
We also do a range of personalised prints, which are perfect for birthdays, baptisms and other special occasions. We specialise in cartoon family portraits- which have been amazingly popular. Many people order them to adorn their own walls, but very often they are used as unique and personal gift for special friends. People love seeing themselves and their families
in cartoon form!
