‘Aslan, Aslan! Dear Aslan!' - A Fine Art Print of my original Acrylic Painting
I love C.S.Lewis's wonderful Chronicles of Narnia stories and I painted this piece after reading Prince Caspian and being especially touched by the part in Chapter 10 entitled, 'The Return of the Lion', when Lucy & Aslan meet in the woods after a long time apart. The text below describes the scene. I loved this picture of intimacy and felt moved to paint my own version of that large wise face that I could gaze up into! The original canvas was the biggest I could find at the time, 80x100cm, and still hangs in our living room.

The great beast rolled over on his side so that Lucy fell, half sitting and half lying between his two front paws. He bent forward and just touched her nose with his tongue. His warm breath came all around her.
She gazed up into the large wise face.
"Welcome, child," he said.” ‘
