Be still and know that I AM God - Psalm 46:10 Print

Psalm 46 is a special one for me. 

In a world where there's so much brokenness around us and a lot of uncertainty, confusion, discord and fear I'll listen to current affairs and can feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure of how to pray about it all at times. 

And so this Psalm has been really helpful in lifting my eyes and my hope and pointing me back to The One who was there at the very beginning of it all - Elohim. 

The God name in the very first sentence in Genesis. The name that carries awesome creative power as well as authority and sovereignty! He is Creator of the heavens and the earth. He made everything out of nothing, bringing order and beauty and goodness out of chaos! And He's still doing it today!! He is God of gods, Highest of all. Master of the Universe! There is no one like Him. And it's this same God who provides refuge, strength and help when trouble comes. 

The One who MADE the mountains is the same One who is with us THOUGH the mountains quake and crumble. In a world that's insecure and shaking, He is ALWAYS SECURE and NEVER SHAKEN! And my heart finds rest and refreshment in this truth.
