These words are a beautiful invitation lifted straight from Song of Solomon 2:10 - 12 NIV,
'My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.'
Like with every piece I create, this one started out as a blank canvas with me choosing paint colours, tearing papers and texturing very much with a mentality of 'play' and with no idea of a destination in mind. And whilst I knew of the verse, at my time of painting this, it wasn't one I had just been reading or even heard for quite some time. And yet, what continues to really amaze me is that when I sit back at the end of one of these sessions and look at whats on the canvas, I realise these pictures are like grace notes from heaven and they minister deeply to my spirit. Like whispers of truth that draw me back once again to the heart of my heavenly Father.
In the painting, I see a doorway, an archway...a beckoning, to get up and come away.. into a garden where brightness and lightness are breaking forth and where sunlight will feel warm on my face. A place where the only sounds are birdsong and gentle breeze through leaves..a place where I can walk barefoot on soft fresh grass and rest amidst an array of scented flowers. A safe place where He is, where I can sabbath, cease striving, let go. A place where I can lean into full trust again: His heart, His intentions and His timings on things. Where I can be still and know again that I am His and He is mine and I am home.
This is a high resolution scan & exhibition quality digital print of my original painting. I am so happy with the sharp print quality; the inks have captured the colours, textures and depth of the original beautifully.
This print would make a great encouragement gift and a wonderful addition to any home.
Prints are carefully packaged with a backboard for support and sealed in a clear cellophane sleeve embellished in the top right corner with a little 'Rara Makes' label.
All prints are shipped in strong cardboard envelopes.
